Performance Upgrades
Engine tuning and performance upgrades have a long tradition at AC Schnitzer. To be on the safe side however, we prefer not to extract the maximum possible power but instead ensure greater robustness, which means a longer life of the engine. Many of our performance upgrades are therefore designed for an increase in torque rather than an increase in horsepower. Because torque is what you feel when for example you’re “pressed back in the seat” on pulling away.
Performance upgrade installed – what happens to the warranty?
For all AC Schnitzer performance upgrades, AC Schnitzer provides a warranty for two years from the date of first registration up to a mileage of 100,000 km on the assemblies moved by the engine. For M models, this warranty ends at 60,000 km. The warranty is free of charge for our customers.
This gives you reassurance in the event of an incident.

Twin silencer with chromed tailtrims “Racing”
Original AC Schnitzer high performance silencers are made from stainless steel with different chromed tailpipes they all offer – especially in combination with an AC Schnitzer performance upgrade – a sporty, effective overall package. A sonorous sound (cars with petrol engines) and a sporty appearance are always scope of delivery.

Wheels :
With the new AC1 alloys in BiColor or Anthracite, AC Schnitzer has reinterpreted the classic twinspoke design. The result is a hybrid sporting look. In the refined design, triangle tips point towards the rim bed and widen towards the centre, terminating in five trapezoids. These direct the eye to the only classic element of the AC1 wheel: the 5-sided hub cap with AC Schnitzer logo.
The AC1 wheels are also available for the BMW M3 and M4 as forged alloys in 20-inch. These wheels achieve an apparent contradiction: although the AC1 forged alloys are one inch larger than the standard wheels, they tip the scales at a lower weight and this perceptibly reduces the gyroscopic forces on the car, further positively influencing driving dynamics.
The road-holding of the M3 and M4 becomes even better with the new mixed tyres which AC Schnitzer is making available exclusively for the top models. On the front, the AC1 forged alloys in 20 inch are fitted with tyres size 265/30 R 20, and on the rear with tyres size 285/30 R 20. The M3/M4 can also be fitted with AC1 alloys in 19 and 20 inch.
The wheel range also includes Type VIII alloys and forged alloys in BiColor Black, Silver or Anthracite, Type V Forged Alloys in BiColor or Anthracite, and Type IV rims in BiColor Black up to size 21-inch with corresponding tyres.
Aerodynamics :
AC Schnitzer aerodynamic components also reduce the car’s coefficient of drag, and so further improve driving behaviour.
Only high quality composite materials, such as PU Rim or carbon, are used in production of our AC Schnitzer aerodynamic components. Because only these materials meet our high quality standard.
